About us

Welcome to

Dental Prosthetic Solutions

DPS is a specialist dental laboratory dedicated to the design and manufacture of removable prosthodontic appliances for dentists and patients, located within the award-winning Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre at Treliske, Truro. We work directly with the public, dentists and dental practices throughout Cornwall and further afield. The laboratory has been founded on the principles of constant innovation and communication with the people we are working with to create consistent improvement for all.

With extensive experience “at the bench” in a prosthetics laboratory and an academic grounding in Dental Technology, Clinical Dental Technology and Health Sciences (the process of applying research to improving patient care outcomes), our aim is to deliver outstanding patient-centred results for those requiring high quality denture care.

With professional membership and affiliation to a number of dental/prosthetic organisations, we are committed to using the services of the laboratory to further the knowledge and craft of dental technology through education with and for dental teams and patients locally.

As a Member of the Dental Laboratory Association working to British Bitemark standards, our dental appliances are manufactured in accordance with the Medical Devices Directive. This means they are made with ‘CE’ marked materials by a qualified dental technician and that our dental laboratory is available for an ‘on-the-spot’ inspection from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

To find DPS, go up the hill past the hospital on your right hand side and retail park on your left. Continue past the overflow carpark on your left to a junction and helicopter pad on your left. Turn left and then take the first left sign posted to the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre – the big glass building that you can now see. Turn left towards the car park, pull up by the barrier and press the intercom, asking for DPS/dental lab

Part of the

Smile Together Group

Smile Together

DPS is proud to be part of the Smile Together Group. As a community interest company, every penny of the profit we make goes straight back into supporting our local community. Our group also comprises West Country Dental Care, Brighter Dental and Brighter Smiles.

West Country Dental Care

Our West Country Dental Care service provides urgent dental treatments for people who do not have their own NHS dentist in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, including emergency dental surgeries which are open when other high street dentists are closed. We have expert skills to treat children and adults with a range of complex needs alongside oral surgery, children’s orthodontics and treatments under general anaesthetic in a hospital setting.

Brighter Dental

Brighter Dental is a Smile Together company providing competitively priced private dental care to communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Our high street practices in Penzance, Saltash, Bodmin, Newquay and the Isles of Scilly offer high quality routine dental treatments for patients and are driven by the same commitment to patient care as our colleagues at West Country Dental Care who provide essential, emergency and community dentistry.

Brighter Smiles

In Cornwall the highest single cause of hospital admissions for children between the ages of 5 – 9 is tooth extraction. Working in partnership with local organisations and schools, we have supported over 1000 children in primary schools and children’s centres across the county with tooth brushing clubs, fluoride varnishing and oral health education programmes to prevent tooth decay. Brighter Smiles is demonstrating that by keeping Cornish childrens’ smiles bright it not only improves their oral health but helps to reduce NHS costs.
